How to Be a Good Writer
Hello readers. Posting something about improving your English skills. I hope you learn something from it and apply it in your daily life.
So proceeding, I present to you, a list of what you should do so that you can improve your English.
1 - Read!
I have been writing for almost an year now and I have noticed that the biggest thing that affects how your English is reading. If you read, your English will improve. Read whatever you like reading, you could read science fiction, philosophy, even reading the newspaper daily can help you improve your English skills. Read at least 3 books in a month by well known writers and you will notice a great improvement just within two months. Even after you think that your English has become very good, keep reading books, if you stop your skills will deteriorate again like mine did. :(
2 - Write
By 'Write' I do not mean write a blog. I mean that write anything, but using a pen and on paper. There is scientific evidence of better words being formed when written instead of just typed. Writing with a pen establishes a link between you and the characters in what you are writing. Or if you are not writing narrative but an informative piece like this one then it establishes a link between you and the audience.
3 - Proofread
Many people think that they do not need to proofread. That is wrong! Every time you proofread you find at least one mistake and so make the piece better. In my case the first time I proofread I get on an average 5-6 mistakes and keep finding mistakes for another 10 proofreads. Proofreading can be really boring after you have done it twice. I am not writing this thinking that I am the best writer so I can chuck out advice on writing better. I am writing this based on my observation, Doing all that I am writing will improve your writing. You may already be writing better than me but doing what I am saying will further increase your quality of writing.
4 - Ask People How They Find Your Writing
This can actually be really helpful. Ask people whom you trust ow they find your writing, ask them to mark what you have written. Try improving your marks as much as possible. Try making your writing as flawless as possible.
5 - Don't use Bombastic Words
To impress people or show off your vocabulary do not use very bombastic words in your writing. Don't try fitting every word you know into the piece, it does not lift your status but instead drops it down. If the words do not fit into the writing then leave it, do not write it.

That is it for today, make sure you follow these simple instructions, they will improve your writing a lot. In the next post I will be releasing a brand new series, make sure you subscribe so that you do not miss on any new posts.
