The Sword of Kronos

PART 1

Five teenagers - Joe, Marc, Jeff, Bill, Bonnie - are on a vacation to Greece. They are travelling guide-less since Jeff, who was really intrigued by Greek mythology, knew Greek. It was a scorching day with no visible clouds and with the sun directly overhead.

The five of them were really tired and hungry and were finding a shaded place to rest and have some food. They saw a cave nearby and saw no other tourists nearby and thought that was the ideal place since they could have some peace of mind. They entered the cave and started looking for a place to settle. The had no doubt heated up in the heat of the day, but they knew how they could beat the heat, they had just the correct equipment - Water. All of them sprinkled some water on the walls as well as themselves, this eased the heat so they then settled down at a relatively clean place on the ground and started eating.

When they had finished eating a weird looking man came into the cave and told them that he was a guide and as they were children he would take them to a tour of the cave free of cost. They reconsidered about accepting this offer but because of the heat they did not want to think much bout it so they accepted his offer.

The man was very short with excessive hair on his body and had an eerie gaze. He was wearing a jeans and a t - shirt. He led them through the tunnel, telling them about the historical importance of the cave and basically being an awesome guide. Then he led them around a turn and there, right in front of their eyes was a wooded chest with golden rims. He told them that the chest contained the sword of the ancient Greek Titan Kronos.

Jeff, who was super exited about seeing the sword advanced towards the chest. The man stayed where he was as if afraid of going near to the sword. Bonnie asked him to join them but the man just said

"I'm fine."

Jeff opened the chest and indeed there was a sheathed sword lying in it. If what the man was saying was true then this sword had to be rusted by now since it had been lying there for millennia. This meant that the sword actually did have some magical power.

Jeff picked it up and unsheathed it. Its blade was so powerful that even looking at it hurt the eyes. Its strong, ancient power seemed to radiate in the small cave. Suddenly the cave shook and a lot of rocks fell and blocked their exit.
