Spider Terror

9th August 1971 - The Beginning

While roaming in the forest today we came across a magical area where, after some time, we noticed that there are exceptionally large spiders. The biggest we have encountered yet was a spider so big and strong that it could crush an ordinary sedan. It was five meters in diameter and had pincers that measured 6 inch in length.

It started with a wandering spider that was abnormally large, about 20 inches, Wandering Spiders aren't that large they range from about 6 to 12 inches. After that encounter things elevated. The size of the spiders increased as we went deeper into the area.

10th August 1971 - Better be Aware

Today has been a long day. As we went deeper into the area the size of spiders seemed to be increasing, this only seemed to be happening with spiders, no other animals. We saw some bizarre things that one never gets a chance to see. We saw a spider making a net so big that it could have caught an alligator.

We learned that we should stay away from them when we saw from a distance, a spider attacking an elephant, the fact that the spider was poisonous, identified by one of our survival guides, did not help the elephant win the fight.

12th August 1971 - We are Prey

We are prey now. The spiders have started attacking us now. In the humid afternoon today we witnessed one of the tourists in our group get stuck in the web of a spider and watched the spider devour her, relishing the human meat.

Later that day we were attacked by a giant spider. Luckily, with the help of some ammunition, we killed it. The body was brought to the tent at night and was examined. The experts are not able to identify the cause of such a growth.

I am freaking out now.

15 August 1971 - A Great Loss

After we slept yesterday, on 14th of August a whole pack of spiders came into our camp and took away 20 people from our group. We were able to bring down one of the pack. The experts were worried, spiders never lived in packs.

We had to find where they had taken our people. Unfortunately, for us, the tracks led us further towards the center of the area. Nobody wanted to go further, all of us just wanted to go back, but we had to rescue the lost people.

16th August 1971 - Going Deeper

We are headed towards where the trails of the spiders are leading us, the forest is becoming ever so dense, The shy is barely visible even during the day. When night falls we are engulfed by darkness and are forced to create camp.

I hope I could reach home soon.

20th August 1971 - The Secrets of the Forest

We reached the place where they had taken our campers and saw a dozen human bones on the floor. The spiders had a nest! We saw the rest 8 people dangling in cocoons made of spider silk - softening.

Armed and ready we proceeded into the nest and when we reached the heart of the nest we saw something that we would never forget. The biggest spider yet, one so big that it could devour an entire SUV. Its mouth was bigger than an SUV. The spider had a glowing abdomen.

We are currently in hiding inside a crevice in the rocks, only the smaller spiders can reach here and we can deal with them.


5th April 2004 - Long Time No See

Writing after so many years. We have been in hiding, somehow living in our crevice. We have formulated a theory for the abnormal size and behaviors of the spiders. The Giant Spider we saw must have been a mother spider. There is no such thing in the normal types of spiders but these are different. The glowing belly was because of some radioactive substance it had swallowed. The Abnormal size was because of the mutations that occurred due to it.

I hope someone reads this, because I don't think we will be getting out of here.
